An unusual pitch invader caused a disruption during Sunday’s A-League women’s soccer match when Wellington Phoenix captain Annalie Longo’s dog ran onto the field, interrupting play during the match against Canberra United.
The dog, named Tiger, ran onto the pitch at Porirua Park in Wellington to the surprise and delight of the crowd, with fans bursting into chants of “Who Let the Dogs Out?”

Several players tried to attract the attention of the dog, who happily ran onto the field, avoiding capture.

Tiger eventually spotted Longo and ran into his arms before the dog was escorted off the field.
“This is indeed the best league in the world,” commentator Jason Pine said.
Tiger’s surprise appearance came after Michelle Heyman scored for Canberra United, a goal Wellington Phoenix were unable to match, securing Canberra’s second consecutive victory.

Canberra United may have won the game, but Tiger stole the show.
