The fans listened, tears streaming down their cheeks.
Ms. Harris says she is proud of the 107-day campaign she led, after President Biden announced he would not seek another term (in July).
She added that it is important to support the peaceful transfer of power.
“I know people are feeling and experiencing a range of emotions right now. I understand, but we have to accept the results of this election. Earlier today, I spoke with President-elect Trump and I I congratulated him on his victory and also told him that we will help him and his team in their transition and that we will engage in a peaceful transfer of power.”
She also spoke to America’s youth with words of encouragement.
“For the young people watching us, it’s okay to feel sad and disappointed, but know that everything will be okay. During the campaign, I often said that when we fight, we win. But here’s the problem, here’s the problem. thing: sometimes the fight takes time. That doesn’t mean we won’t win. The important thing is to never give up. I never stop trying to make the world a better place.”
Vice President Harris closed with some words of inspiration, telling Americans to have faith in what may be difficult times ahead.
“I know a lot of people feel like we’re entering a dark time, but for the sake of all of us, I hope that’s not the case. But here’s the thing. America, if it is If so, let’s fill the sky with the light of a bright, shining billion of stars. The light of optimism, of faith, of truth and of service.
