PineBridge brings flagship fund to Australian shores

PineBridge Investments has launched the PineBridge (AU) Global Focus Equity Fund, making its flagship product available to Australian wholesale investors.

According to PineBridge, the fund seeks to provide investors with capital appreciation and identify mispricing opportunities in high-quality companies in order to build a portfolio with more consistent and diversified returns.

What sets the fund apart from others, the firm explained, is its strategy of analyzing companies based on their “life cycle” stage rather than sector or industry.

This, he says, provides a more accurate reading of a company’s potential relative to the market’s perception of it, resulting in a differentiated portfolio of 30 to 50 stocks with high active share and risk. relatively low compared to the benchmark index.

“In a market characterized by dispersion of returns and high valuations, selectivity and risk management are more important than ever,” said Rob Hinchliffe, portfolio manager and head of global sector cluster research.

“The global equities team has consistently applied a non-consensus, high-conviction active investment approach, resulting in low peer correlation and a differentiated source of return. »

On this subject, PineBridge said its life cycle equity research framework identifies the evolution of businesses, which typically occurs over the long term.

“As anticipated changes become visible in the market over time, valuations converge with fundamentals, providing the opportunity identified at the time of purchasing the security,” the company said.

These investment opportunities exist across the entire market spectrum and at every stage of the economic cycle, PineBridge said, and as such the team is agnostic towards style-based investing and the sector.

Clinton Grobler, Head of Australia, said: “The launch of the PineBridge Global Focus Equity Fund marks a step change in the expansion of PineBridge’s business in Australia.

“I believe Global Focus Equity will strongly complement PineBridge’s existing product range in Australia, attracting the core investor appetite for global equities via a differentiated life cycle, high conviction approach, combined with disciplined risk management and concerned about benchmarks.
