OpenMarkets Equix is the new platform from ASX digital trading platform OpenMarkets Australia and is designed to provide a fast, low-cost online solution for trading and investing in Australian securities.
Customers will be able to trade ASX-listed shares, warrants and a full range of products, including ETFs, as well as analyze their performance, access charts, create alerts and download reports.
The mobile and web tool is free for customers using its live data version with click-to-refresh, or users can upgrade to streaming for a cost.
OpenMarkets chief executive Andrea Marani said this was a significant development and was already gaining traction with customers.
“The decision to develop a new trading platform came after identifying the need to provide clients with trading tools that could be personalized and integrated into the wider OpenMarkets platform ecosystem, such as access to global markets and to complementary third-party tools,” he said.
The initial release will be the first of many future enhancements intended to deliver cutting-edge trading tools and operations to retail and intermediary clients.
“The mobile app truly enhances the trading experience by giving our clients on-the-go access to what’s happening in the markets. This is also an important step in the implementation and execution of our digital strategy which places mobility at the center of our concerns,” said Mr Marani.
It was developed in partnership with Quant Edge, an algorithmic trading technology company, which will bring enormous benefits, Mr Marani said.
“They are extremely responsive to requests and extremely quick to add new features – exactly the service our customers want and expect,” he said.
Equix was built using HTML 5 technology for speed and is designed in a linkable widget-based format, but can expand to allow users to customize their business selection.
