To keep citizens in the East, the Berlin Wall was erected in 1961 without prior warning – and it would take almost three decades to see it fall. Journalist Jennifer Scherer is in Berlin as part of a research trip organized by the German Federal Foreign Office in cooperation with the National Press Club of Australia.
